Jans Echternacht
Jans Echternacht’s work grows from an instinct for colour, rotation and speed.
His wish to let others experience the unique process of creating a spin painting led to the Studio Jans Echternacht project.
The studio is also the base for artists for children e.V., a project founded by Jans Echternacht.
As part of the project, he visits children’s homes with a mobile art machine to paint with the children on site.
Jans Echternacht lives and works in Berlin.
Football and Art
Alongside his artistic work, football was an important part of Jans Echternacht’s early life.
He played for Schalke 04 and Grasshoppers Zürich, among others.
After football, precision, power, pace, reaction and an eye for the right moment remained.
Today, Jans Echternacht works with round canvases, colour and rotation.
The circle has remained; only the playing field has changed.
Exhibitions and One-Off Works
Large-format works by Jans Echternacht can currently be seen at the Michelin-starred restaurant Bonvivant in Berlin Schöneberg. The Adidas Originals Store in Berlin Mitte displayed a work created especially for the location, while the major Berlin solo exhibition “Electric Dreams” presented numerous works by the artist. Available originals can be viewed at the studio, and we can send a current overview of formats and prices on request.
Every spin painting is a unique original that cannot be reproduced. Anyone who acquires an original by Jans Echternacht chooses a one-off work that exists only once in this form.
